I'd say go ahead and try it.  I wouldn't send jobs to it from
both at the same time though.  As a similarity, I've connected an
Epson 740 printer to a PC using the USB port and to a Mac using
the Mac port and both can print to it ok (just not at the same
time, of course).

I've also connected a non-networked pc to the parallel port of a
Laserjet printer that had a Jetdirect Print server card and
accepted jobs from PCs on the network.
