Cathy, I can't believe I know the answer to this but here it is. To
remove
the annoying Netscape Communications Page from your Messenger
mailbox, search your C: drive for a file named prefs.js. There may be
more than one if you have multiple profiles set up. Then add the line:

user_pref("mailnews.start_page.enabled", false);

The header of the file will say not to modify it, but that's OK. This is
the
only way to stop this from appearing in messenger.
