If you right-click the file and choose 'properties', you should see 3 options along the bottom of the
'File properties' window.

Your file is probably already checked there as 'Read only'.

If so, you could change it to 'Archive' and, if necessary, uncheck-check 'Read only' as well.

In my humble opinion, this is not a recommended practice for 'just any file' - only files you're sure of.
