Bob, that prompts me to seek the answer to another longstanding mystery -
just what function does the drop-down list in the IE address box fulfill?

Like, I used to think it recorded just the urls that were physically typed
into it. Is this all it does?

BTW, I've just tried your suggestion to delete some of 20 or so entries in
my drop-down list, by right clicking, but I get no menu to enable deletion.
My IE is 5.5.
