<< Is @HOME cable a nationwide ISP or just local ? I had cable modem for a while but their bookkeeping led me to drop it and go back to dedicated line, what was supposed to be 24 a month + 35 for TV cable always came out in billing as 100 + a month. Too many "surcharges" Can some of yall tell me about @home ? pro & con ? >>
@home is nationwide but often your local cable company is contracted to provide service. I pay $29.00 per month (because I purchased the modem -- if I rented it I would pay $39.00/mo). There are no surcharges here. The only "con" I can think of is that you must install a firewall (I have Black Ice and it is great). Pro's: Fast-fast-fast. No busy signal. No need for second phone line. No disconnects. I would never be able to go back to using a dial-up.
