I acquired an xp desktop with a virus that someone identified as "system
tools" virus. I reinstalled XP from a cd, doing a complete reformat of the
HD. when I was done there were two entries for XP in boot.ini; one of them
pointed to a nonexistent partition, so i deleted it. I havn't been able to
install google chrome or flash player.
I've got three questions:
1: how did the boot.ini get two entries?
2: could it still have a virus?
3: if it does have a virus, how did it survive the reinstall?
