Ben,
You didn't say what operating systems are on these machines. It's hard to
give you accurate and detailed help when we have to guess what you are
using.
IF the two machines are using any combination of Windows 95 and/or 98,
Then you already have the software. Point and click on empty space
on your desktop and then press the F1 key to activate the windows help.
Now click the INDEX tab and search for DIRECT CABLE CONNECTION.
It will explain everything you need.
If both machines have modems and AOL software, then this definitely is not
the fastest but certainly is the easiest method. Upload the file to your
personal web space. Then connect with the laptop and download.
