It sounds to me like this is a plug-in.

If that is the case, then clearing the dropdown history would
likely be a function of the toolbar/plugin itself and not IE.
Personally, I use the Google toolbar.
Try to find the Yahoo bar options by clicking that toolbar (could be
a right click or left). If all else fails, visit the place that you downloaded
it from they should offer some insight.
