I am running XP PRO, and still getting use to it. None of my ico
files show up in File manager Explorer as bitmaps / pictures. Instead
they appear as the default ico icon. There use to be a show icons in all
colors check box under display settings, but that is now suppose to be the
default with XP.

I was trying to trouble shoot a problem with my mouse... when I move it, I
hear noise...so I was turning off display enhancements, like window fading,
which I hate, but maybe I turned something off inadvertently. However, I
have tried turning everything back on, without result.

What do I have to do in order to enable to see ico files as pictures in XP
Explorer file manager.

thanks
