There are many ways to do this, depending on your File/Folder setup and
the operating system.
I'm including a couple of reference links, but be sure you know the
basics of cut, copy and paste. These commands are available from the Edit
menu or the right-click menu.In most applications you are given a choice
of where to save a file (The "save as" option). Folders can be organized
by type, date, size or name (See the View menu or the right-click menu).
New folders can be created from the File menu or the right-click menu.
(I am a big fan of right-click, as all the standard choices are easily
accessed).
When moving a file by dragging, try using the right mouse button, which
will give you a choice of copying or cutting (Moving).
Have a coherent plan when you begin. Each file should clearly fit into a
designated folder, i.e. the "Business Correspondence " folder might have
sub folders for "Utilities" and "Mortgage".
This is a big subject, but time devoted to it will repay you in the long
run.
