Westly,

When you connect to an FTP site, it looks a lot like your windows explorer
when you open it to manage your files and directories (folders).  With
programs such as CuteFTP or WSFTP you will find that there is two windows
(just like in windows explorer), one one side is your local folders and
files, and in the other window is the ftp sites folders and files that you
connected to. How they work is you would go through folders that might look
interesting to you, say you connected to a shareware server and you went
into the folder "GAMES", and there you found a game you wanted.. so then you
would hilight that file and then download it.. it then would be somewhere on
your computer and you could go play your game after it was
unzipped/installed, whatever had to be done after you downloaded it off the
FTP site.
