Ken,

You didn't indicate your Operating System, but here are two possible
solutions.

First, go to Start, Settings, Control Panel and open the Passwords icon.
Then click the Change Passwords tab and click the Change Windows Password
button. Make sure all three fields are completely blank and click the OK
button to save changes.

Second, open the Network Control Panel and select Windows Logon as your
Primary Network Logon. Restart, and when windows puts up the password
prompt, create a brand new user and enter a blank password. You should
never see the password prompt again.

Subject: Name & Password at boot up

I've read this before but didn't have and didn't think I'd have the same
problem.
One of my CD RW programs stopped making audio CDs. After doing all I could
think of for almost 2
weeks, I finally e-mailed the company and explained the errors I was
getting. The technician
responded that IE 6.0 interferes with the program. (I hadn't even told him
I had even upgraded to
6.0 though I don't usually use IE anyway -- Netscape kind of guy.) He said
I would need to
uninstall 6.0 and go back to an earlier version of IE. I did so and my CD
RW program ran fine.

But now, I get this login for name and password on every boot up. I cancel
and all is well. I have
deleted the two *.pwl files in C:\windows but it hasn't changed a thing.
So, help! Where is the
key that shuts this password request off on each boot. (I've tried to get
to the No Spin URL but it
will not load -- maybe down.)

TIA,
Ken
