Has ME not got an IE repair facility?
Start\Progs\Accessories\System Tools\System Information. Then
Tools\Internet Explorer Repair Tool.
There's also a Microsoft Corporate Download site where these IE files are
archived.
Good luck with IE6 - I tried it and went back to 5.5
