I have tried to upgrade Windows Media to release 7.1 several times. However the 'About Windows Media Player' resulting from the Help menu always reports that I am running 7.01.00.3055. Clicking on the 'Check for Player Upgrades' reports that I have the most recent version. I am curious about the version number mis-report, if that is what it is.

I am running Windows 2000.
