I ran a backup onto a 90 meter 4mm DAT tape using Backup Exec version 5 (an
old version). This is running under Windows 2000 or Windows NT. The backup
ran without any indication of errors. However, when I tried to run a
restore, the tape drive reported a bad tape and could not read it. Is there
any way to salvage what is on the tape? I assume that the problem must be
with the tape header that causes the drive not to recognize it. Can a new
header be written without destroying the information on the tape?

Any help would be appreciated.
