Hi Ron,
The simplest way is to drag or copy the shortcut icon for Firefox into the
Startup folder.
(Start button > Start Menu > All Programs > Startup
Be aware that your logon to desktop will be slower, because apart from
loading all processes and the desktop,
Windows now has to load Firefox as well.
If it loads before essential processes are finished, the logon may be
incomplete and cause errors.
In that case you may want to delay the start of Firefox for a few seconds.
You could use one of the programs below
Startup Delayer

CodeStuff Starter

A more complete program that among many other things can delay startup of
certain processes or programs, is
AnVir Task Manager Free

If you want to know which processes load and when and how much time they
take, check

Coming back to the startup Home page, you can even set it as your Desktop
"wallpaper"..
You have to activate Active Desktop to do this:
Right-click the Desktop > Properties > Customize > Web tab.> Tick "My
current Home page"
You can add any web page or html file.
More settings under the Properties tab and even more if you tick "Make the
content available Offline"

This is a feature that is no longer available for later versions of Windows
because of security concerns.
I know ,this is far more than you asked for ,but may be useful to other
readers.
Besides, the simple answer gives you no insight on what's going on or
available.
