If you have a Netscape version in the 3.x area, look under Options/Network
Preferences/Disk Cache directory, and look for the path. It should be the
folder your Netscape is stored in, in a subfolder called Cache. I was able
to reproduce a similar situation to what you describe, by changing the
cache to windows\desktop (which is not where you want it to be).

In Netscape 4.x, it's under Edit/preferences/advanced/cache/disk cache folder.
