   .BK is indeed a WP backup file, created to prevent the crisis of an 
accidental deletion of part or all of a document.
   Think of it as a blessing, not an annoyance.
   You have control over it - use the settings to eliminate its creation - a 
mistake IMHO, or timing of its recreation.
   When you've completed your document and it is 
printed/filed/faxed/whatever, you can delete the .BK if you like.
