  It sounds to me like your BIOS is set to try to boot from a CD (if one is
available), and there's a not-quite-bootable Cd in the drive.  Try taking it
out first -- you may have to quickly press "Eject" after turning the power
on and before the machine reaches that point.

  S.M.A.R.T. is an option on most modern hard drives to try and detect
problems before data is lost.  You probably want it on if at all possible,
but your system should run fine with it turned off.
  Similarly, displaying PCI device data during startup is normal and
harmless.

  My machine is configured to try to boot from a CD first; 99% of the time
it fails because I don't have a bootable disk in the drive, and goes on to
boot from a hard drive instead.  I think this is the step where you're
actually having trouble.
