I have friend, they have Verizon DSL, but use AOL to front end it. AOL
installs a lot of stuff, including dial up and networking protocols.

In fact, they installed the latest "Security" version of AOL, after which,
they can no longer use their Hotmail, account with IE6, outside of AOL, to
send messages. They can read the messages that have come into Hotmail, but
anything they try to reply to, or send out new, fails.
It sounds like AOL is blocking IE from using SMTP on web based email.

Anybody see this before? Anybody know a solution?

thanks
Mark Rode
