I too have been running Windows 2000 Professional on my Laptop. It is a
Dell Inspiron 7500 650MHz PIII Processor with 96 mb Ram. I love it and will
never run anything else on this machine. Compared to running Win98 that I
used to have on it this is a pleasant experience.

I have successfully installed w2k professional workstation as a client
on my home pc 128mb/8gig hd/350mhz cpu; As long as you can find updated w2k
drivers for your hardware and software if needed you should be fine. I
have not yet encounter any problems with running w2k or any applications so
far. I aslo dual boot with me on this pc.

Running w2k advanced server with active directory on other pc.
So far so good. No crashes;basic server/client setup; haven't put os
under more stressful conditions.
