I just received word back from the server I found listed in one of the
email headers. They traced the user and notified them they had the virus.
If, in fact, the headers are faked, then the tech support person I spoke to
lied to me, or had some way of tracing it further. I hope it's the latter.
Even though I keep up with virus definitions twice weekly, (more if clients
of mine mention the word virus), it's a pain to have to deal with them
regularly. I've kept track this year... 112 viruses sent to my email so
far. Norton 2K and regular updates have caught them all, (knock on wood).
Even with almost fanatic pleading to my clients to keep their anti-virus
software updated... I still get calls, (and the inevitable
"spin-the-bottle-pass-the-virus-on" emails) from them.
