One note about Kill_CIH from Symantec is that it leaves a mess on your hard
drive. It tends to make copies of every file it cleans.. and then you are busy
cleaning out all the files it generates.
Personally, when we were hit with this nasty bug a few months back, (both
Drew Dunn and myself got it), we finally opted to use AVP. It cleans the
virus thoroughly and does not leave the mess of Kill_CIH. You can
download the 30 day trial version from their web site to clean the virus:
