Hi there

I have a problem that I have been trying to resolve without having to bother the group for over three weeks now but I am running out of time and am getting desparate.

Just over three weeks ago my daughter got married and her wedding was put on webcam by the chapel for us to enjoy and archived for 30 days.

I was given the link but when I try to play it on the Windows Media Player I get the screen and it says first "connecting" the it changes to "attempting to reconnect" then playing and light flashes on the screen for a couple of seconds and then it goes off.

I have re downloaded version 10 of the media player from a link given me on the site and reinstalled it, I have gone to Windows websites read postings are trying to fix this, thought some codec was missing (whatever that is) but to no avail so also downloaded version 9 as that was reputed to have great codecs.

We often get video files via internet and we are able to play those I am desparate to see this webcast before it goes off the net.

It is archived at www.alittlewhitechapel.com

I even had someone give me the url and went into media player through programmes then to File then "open url" and typed in the url which is: wm9.bur.synccast.com/istream/lwc/7173.wmv

The error message I get there says:

"Windows Media Player cannot play the file if the file is on another computer verify that you are connected to the network etc....."

I am running Windows XP Professional version 2002, service pack 2

Intel pentium III

Windows media player 10

I have gone into XP and temporarily disconnected the XP firewall but that didnt make any difference. We are connected on cable by road runner dsl.

I am thinking it is some setting in my computer that is preventing this as some of my most computer illerate friends just go to the site press and they see the wedding. I have followed all the different proxy settings that I have found in HELP but am just going round in circles.

I would really appreciate any help anyone out there can give and if necessary please email me privately for more details you may need to view the site I am trying to access if you think that may help you.

Thank You in advance
Pat
