Files or folders copied to a CD become read only. Try copying these
files to your hard drive and in properties make them archive. You should
then be able to import them into Outlook Express.

PCSOFT Digest - 14 Aug 2003 to 15 Aug 2003 (#2003-226)i'm trying to get
some space on my hard disk and would like to eliminate many of my
outlook express mail files after backing them up (OS W98).
i copied the windows/applications/microsoft/outlook express folder onto
a cdrom, deleted one of the mail folders on my pc and then tried to copy
it back from the cdrom, but that doesn't seem to bring it back when i
open outlook express again.
how is the backup done so i can read the mail later (either directly off
the cdrom, or by somehow putting it back into outlook express)?
