It sounds like you need to adjust a setting in Firefox.  In Firefox, go 
to Tools, Options and on the "Main" tab, check to see that on startup it 
says "show my home page" and that your home page url is listed below.  
Another way to do it would be to set up the home page to look like you 
want it and go to the same place and click on the "use current page"    HTH
