I recently ran a sfc.exe check on my Win98se and it went through and I was able to fix most of the errors by having the restored through the CAB files on my win98se CD. However some were not able to be restored that way.
IMAGEMAP.EXE
FP4WEL.DLL
FP4AMSFT.DLL
FP4ANSCP.DLL
FP4APWS.DLL

All were part of the same pathway:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions

I tried linking to other folders on the CD but I didn't hit the right one or maybe it can't be restored through a sfc check. So What is broke and how do I fix it? By the way I was doing this as part of maintence on my system so I hadn't noticed anything behaving badly with my computer. Hopefully with your help I can catch something before it goes to far. By the way scandisk and scanreg did not show these errors they came up clean.
