There is a program that allows icons on the taskbar to be hidden but
easily recovered if required. It also allows running programs to be
minimised to the taskbar either hidden or in view. This latter feature
frees up the button area of the taskbar because instead of a button you
get an icon. Good for often used programs such as MailWasher, Windows
Explorer, etc.
The program is called "4t Tray Minimizer" and can be downloaded from:
http://www.4t-niagara.com/tray.html
This site gives all the attributes of this program. It sure reduces the
clutter at the bottom of the screen.
