Ok. I found a couple of things.
1. It's not an RPT file. The file has a double extension. It's actually
"Lastname.RPT.DAT." It's a DATA file.
2. It is not text. It's binary. It does seem to be a list of records.
3. It is from Seagate Crystal Reports. Crystal Reports is a fairly expensive
data collection and analysis package. There is a viewer, but it is not free.
Furthermore, I am unclear as to whether it can be imported into another DB
package like Access.
I'm afraid you'll have to get into contact with the person who sent the
file.
Cheers,
Mike Whalen
