I have Eudora 4.2

Bring up a piece of mail from the intended person.
Click "Special" on the tool bar.
Then choose "Make filter"
Make your filter as needed.
At the bottom of the "make filter" page choose
"add details"
Under "action" choose as many as you like.  Sound is one option.

You can also do this under "tools"
Just choose filters (if you have a filter for the person, if not just make
one).
Under action, choose sound.
