Greetings Delores and list--

If you choose "Tools" then "Options" in Outlook Express, one of the tabs should read "Security". If there is a check mark in the box next to "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus," click on it to un-check it. Apply the setting, then close Outlook Express. Open Outlook Express again, enter your password (if you have it set up that way), and you should now be able to save and/or open the attachment. As always, be very cautious when opening attachments to e-mail. Even if the post appears to come from a "trusted source", the return address can be 'spoofed' by hackers and promulgators of malware. Probably the safest way to handle an attachment that you are pretty certain you want is to create a folder in which you save it, then scan it immediately with an updated antivirus scanner.
