HTTPS is HTTP over SSL (Secure Socket Layer), this means that
between your HTTP what describes webpages and network layer
how data is sent and received is additional layer whish authenticates
site exchanges crypting keys and encrypts data.
Your friend propably uses old browser what needs upgrading.
