What is the default mail program under programs?
Switching to TB is pretty painless. It will ask if you want to import
your OE contacts and should work immediately.
I prefer Gmail for its many features and the fact that it's
independent of your ISP. You can export your contacts from TB or OE
and import them to Gmail fairly easily, but the interface takes a
little study.
I would just go ahead with TB at this point and see if it doesn't
solve the problem with no further messing around.

> Hugh:  I followed your instructions.  When I got to the Programs tab, there were two lines.  The first one, "I.E. is the default web browser."  Then there was a block with the word "default" grayed out.  The second line was "Tell me if I.E. is not the default web browser."  Incidentally, I never did install or uninstall any other web browser like Firefox or Netscape.  Once my problem is resolved and I decide to change to Thunderbird or Gmail, (which I think is a good idea) should I uninstall OE first?
