I tried your suggestion Eric and again I just get the changes applied to the
folder that is showing.  Even if I make the changes with the C: drive
highlighted, the other folders under the C: drive are still large icons and
not detailed like I tried to change it to.

Try this...

-Open one instance of Windows Explorer to C:\

-Set the View settings as you want them...Large icons or Details, turn
on or off View, As web page, and so forth.

-When set, press the F5 key.

-Hold down the CTRL key while you close the Explorer window by
clicking the X control in the upper right corner of the window.

That should do it.
