Hi Jim,
There may possibly be a way to do this via the Registry, but there is a
convenient utility available ,
called *Startup Delayer * http://www.r2.com.au/news.php?page=6
The startup delay is also available in *WinPatrol*, although not
mentioned on the website.
See http://www.pcmech.com/article/delay-startup-programs-with-winpatrol/
WinPatrol http://www.winpatrol.com/
Then there is *Delay Run*
http://www.geocities.com/fcueto/Otros/delayrun_en.htm
And *Anvir's Freeware Task Manager* ,which has a startup delay feature
http://www.anvir.com/taskmanagerfree
Check this page for an "How To " ;)
http://www.anvir.com/delayed-startup.htm
Hopefully this will give you something to work with ;)

> I would like to change the order in which programs are initiated at startup time. For instance my virus software (AVG) opens and checks for updates before my internet connection is started (SprintPCS). Therefore I have to manually run my virus update check.
