I would have expected Norton to quarantine the file.  It's not uncommon for
Norton to be unable to 'repair' a file carrying a virus, so it puts it into
a quarantine area, presumably so that later virus definitions might be used
to better effect.

Have a look in Reports\Quarantined Items, that's usually where Norton
quarantines stuff.
