Hi Laurie,
Don't know if it is better or not, can only tell I never had a virus-problem
with my antivirus program which you can get free for personal use at:
http://www.free-av.com  The download is about 4 MB. My son and a friend
experienced the program working/finding and getting rid of virus without
problems as well. We are completely happy with it!
