I'm guessing that your Mac email program is providing colored text using
HTML to format the message. Because email has existed longer than HTML,
there are some email programs that don't know how to show it (and some users
who, for reasons of security or performance, prefer not to). So most email
programs that support sending of HTML email send a message containing two
versions -- an HTML version, and a plain text version.
I'd say that the most likely issue is that your XP email program may be
configured to show you the plain text version. (To help you fix that, we'd
need to know what program you use to read your email on XP.)
A second possibility is that a server which handles your email is
stripping off the HTML version.
