Yes.  I own a Promo version of ver 6 (Cheap since I was/am a Ghost user...)
I also have a full version of ver 7.

I like both, and ver 7 is very cool and has more features.  (I don't think
they sell ver 6 anymore...)

Even though you list this as something you dis-like, I recommend making
the Boot-CD and using TrueImage that way...  I don't trust this backup stuff
from inside Windows...

If there is a DEMO, run that first before buying... The Boot-CD runs under
RedHat Linux, and I have had some odd compatibility problems with hardware...
(Linux has been known for that more than Windows...)
Acronis tech support has been fine, and fixed problems for me when I bothered
to ask...

Most hard drive manufacturers have the functionality you want (cloning)
for free (booting from a floppy or CD) for free in their installation software...
