ZoneAlarm Pro, or the free edition, should not interfere with Internet
Explorer (IE). Did this only occur after installing ZoneAlarm? Is everything
else running at normal speed? You have a couple of resource 'hogs', and
possibly more, so one thing I would do is add as much memory as the system
will take. You didn't mention any spyware programs so you may be loaded down
with spyware/malware.

Thanks Sven,
Yes, it only occurred after installing the latest ZoneAlarm (as of
11-8-2004). I'm a believer in Ad-aware and have used the latest SE since its debut.
For IE, when I'd open it, it would take about 2-3 minutes to get to my home
page. Then it wouldn't show all the graphics on the page. I would surf to
other sites (Yahoo, Google, MSN) and they too would be missing some graphics
(little red "x's"). OE 6 slowed considerably on opening as well. MS Word was
only slightly affected but graphics-intensive games were considerably slow in
opening but play wasn't affected.
I liked how ZA would notify me when IE, OE, aol would open...nothing else
running except GoBack, findfast, norton a/v and regular XP services. Internet
history was set to 45mb and I regularly delete histories. I uninstalled ZA
and everything went back to normal.
