I have been trying to install Norton Anti-virus on my older computer with windows 98 second edition.  For some unknown reason it tells you it is installing but after a while and nothing really going on. The Mouse freezes up and so does everything else.  I have ran a scan, defragmenter, and everything else I can think of.  I was going to put Norton System works on it but tried that also as I got the Norton especially for it.  It now sets in the box, as it would not install.  Then I got just the Norton anti-virus to install but not having any luck with that.  Now I have both the system works and another Norton anti-virus one that are not being used.  Money down the drain.  
At the moment I have AVG protecting it.  As I have read that is the best in the FREE software.  Had no problems downloading it.  I would just feel better having Norton on my other computer as I have given it to my son and don't want any thing coming in as he is new to computers.  
It there anything I can do to get my Norton Anti-virus installed on it.
