I'm posting this a software fix because I started this odyssey on this list, but the final solution involved modifying the registry so I guess it's really an operating system fix and should appear on the Build list. Remember I could only share from one machine on a 2 computer network using a Linksys BEFSR41. I found the solution using a Google search that led me to an MS fix posted in their knowledge base. MS Knowledge Base Article - 177078. This seems to be a problem with NAV that can be fixed by changing a registry value.

http://www.michna.com/kb/WxNotEnoughServerStorage.htm

The entry existed on the machine I couldn't access but not on the machine I could. The only difference between the two is that one is running NAV 2002 and the other NAV2003.

Thanks for the suggestions and help as I muddled through this. BTW Google is awesome!
