Linda, do you know if your BIOS is set to boot from CD? If it is, you could try putting the Master CD in the drive while Windows is running (hold down the shift key to stop the CD auto-running), shut down and restart the machine and see if the Master CD is actually a Recovery CD.
If you try this and the CD won't institute a boot process, hit DEL on startup, then go into the BIOS and change the boot sequence from Floppy-A to CDRom. You'll need to save the setting when you exit.
