10 * [x - INT(x)] + INT(x) * 16
Example: 10 *{12.7 - INT(12.7)} + INT(12.7) * 16
10 * {12.7 - 12} + 12 * 16
10 * (.7) + 168
7 + 168
175
I am assuming that there are sixteen pounds in a stone. drops the .7 and gives you the number of
stones. If it is possible to have numbers like 12.768, then you need to take a look at the TRUNC
function. "x" is the row/column reference.

Subject: [PCSOFT] Excel formula to convert stones to pounds
Hello
I keep a track of weight in an Excel spreadsheet. For years I have entered
it in stones and pounds like so:
12.7 (means 12 stone 7 pounds)
I'd like to convert it to pounds in the next cell/column. But of course 12.7
means quite a different thing in Excel! ... is there a formula that will
convert it to pounds ... a formula that will convert 12.7 to 175 lbs.
Hope you guys can help
TIA ... Mick
