It appears that they have removed this functionality form Quicken 2002
(Deluxe). In this case, when you go to the Open file dialogue, it only
allows you to select file types of the Quicken variety (.qdf, .qdb, .qdt
etc). There is no other selection permissible. If you manually type the name
of the .mny file into the drop down box an error comes up that Quicken
cannot open the file.

I have also tried to use "open with" and choose my .mny file and "open with"
quicken, but that does not work either. Quicken opens OK, but my .mny file
is never imported or used.

Maybe I will call tech support and see if indeed they still have a
converter.

Strikes me as odd that they would remove or never have this functionality. I
realize the Microsoft may change their proprietary file formats frequently,
and they are hard to keep up with, but a converter like this would be a
major selling point in getting people to switch from Money to Quicken. Here
is a perfect case in point - I was willing to try out Quicken, but if I have
to either lose 7 years of data, or re-enter it, I'll take a big pass, thanks
very much Intuit.

1 Choose File menu > Open.
2 If necessary, navigate to the directory containing the Microsoft Money
file you want
to convert. Money files have an extension of .MNY.
3 Select the file you want to convert and click OK.

Note: If you cannot currently convert Microsoft Money files, you have an
early version
of Quicken 2001. An updated Microsoft Money converter may be available. To
