Try WindowBlinds. It's the best program for skinning Windows, with
hundreds of skins freely available (although the program itself is
trialware.). There are Mac and XP lookalikes, and more looks than you
could ever imagine. It totally transforms your computer. Plain old vanilla
Windows looks awful when you go back to it! There are some very clever
graphic artists out there.
Great fun for playing around on a rainy day. But beware, these programs can
use up a fair amount of resources, and can be a little flaky with some
programs.
It's also very easy to modify each scheme to your own taste, changing
colors and backgrounds etc.
For something a lot simpler, just changing the look of buttons and bars,
there's WindowsMakeup--I think I got mine off a magazine CD. Don't know if
it's still around.
