Hi Bill,
I have the same (or similiar) issue at home...modem indicates no dial tone
if I have a call waiting in voice mail (actually the voice mail informs of
a message by a fluctuating dial tone that probably does not allow the modem
to recognize what 'it' expects)....I merely lift the receiver for a few
moments and let the tone complete and all is then fine.
