Is Windows rebooting, or is the PC rebooting? If it is the PC, it could be
a bad power supply. The CD-RW closing would force the drive to re-scan.
The power from the motor spinning up is too much for the power supply, and
the power supply reboots the PC.

Subject: [PCSOFT] closing cdrw drawer forces windows 2000 reboot

I have run into a very annoying problem in the past 2 week. losing cdrw
drawer forces windows 2000 to reboot. I can't relate this to any new
programs I installed, but I'm not sure of that.
I'd appreciate any help.
