Greetings John--

If my memory serves, I believe this is a property or preference setting within WordPerfect itself, as opposed to a Windows setting. It may possibly read something like a 'check-box' next to a line that says words to the effect of "create a back-up of active document every ____ minutes". I believe this can be un-checked entirely, or you may change the number of minutes between backups.
