Dear Listers:
When I use the On-Line feature of the Canadian version of Quicken Deluxe 99
program I now receive the following message:

"As of April 30, 2002, online banking downloads to Quicken 1998 and 1999
will no longer be supported by Intuit Canada. [more]

In an effort to ensure your personal finance needs are met, we'd like to
outline your alternatives:

a) You can continue to use your current Quicken software without online
banking downloads.

b) You can upgrade to Quicken 2002 Deluxe for only $59.95. In recognition
of your continued loyalty as a Quicken customer, you are eligible for a $20
discount off the retail price of Quicken 2002 Deluxe - plus until May 31,
2002 - you'll get QuickWealth Planner (a $19.95 value)."

Having tried and returned Quicken 2002 and being very satisfied with the
Quicken 99 version, I would like to continue using it but I need the
on-line features. I've contacted Quicken requesting confirmation as to
whether the feature will no longer be available or just not supported after
April 30, 2002. I'm not holding my breath waiting for an answer! If you
click on [more] all that you get is Questions and answers on upgrading
Quicken 98/99 to Quicken 2002. Helpful? No! My bank has been no more
helpful so far. It just provides a copy of the Quicken message on its site.

Since downloads only involve my and the bank's software, I don't see how
the feature would cease to function unless the bank changes its program.
Can anyone enlighten me?

Thanks,

Peter Darrach
